Visual Arts
“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.” – Aristotle
Our friendly, motivated practising artists guide you through and school you in such diverse fields as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, computer design works and digital photography while you gather NCEA and LAM credits in our relaxed and very pleasant Art Department:
- In the Junior school the focus is on gaining experience in the range of medium.
- In the Senior school the curriculum opens into the sub disciplines for students to choose and specialise in Painting, Sculpture, Design and Digital Photography.
The facilities are top notch incorporating a modern learning environment and the ICT required to run high end programmes required for Design.
Music
“Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.” – Jimi Hendrix
The Music Department offers a variety of itinerant lessons for students. Depending on the needs of students and the availability of teachers, lessons are offered for thirty minutes per week, free of charge. Our usual lessons include piano, flute, guitar, saxophone, voice, drums and bass.
