At the end of Term One, the performing arts classes of the school gathered to host a performance evening at the Lawson Field Theatre for our school whanau. In addition to performances by Year 11, 12, and 13 music students, there were contributions from mau rakau, kapa haka, and drama students as well. It was a great chance for our students to begin getting ‘runs on the board’ in terms of getting assessments done, particularly after an arduous term, and it was also a great chance for our students to experience performing in a public setting in a big venue. The piano students particularly appreciated playing the very nice grand piano that the theatre has. Thanks go to all the staff and prefects who came along to help make the evening a success.
